Knee Journals Entry #3

 The Car

So before I get to the knee... apparently I forgot the epic part of the hospital trip... the car issue!

Just to back track a little, I remember mentioning in Knee Journals Entry #1 how on the way to the hospital the car starts to crap out in Tirau. Battery light is on, no not blinking, ON! You can feel the car jerking along, like a subtle bunny hop, like it's gonna die, but then it kinda comes right. So considering we are in Tirau at this point, we are only basically about half way to Hamilton! So the drive was a little nerve racking because of the concern that it is quite possible that the car could just putt out at any moment... SCARY! Talk about PRAYER TIME! Lucky for us, we got to Hamilton, however, there was still some slight anxiety. That's when the car totally putts out while I'm picking up my crutches. Again, lucky for us there was a nurse there to offer her cars mechanical assistance in giving us a jump start. So off to the hospital for surgery.

Llewellyn had plenty of time to be able to sort out the car while I was in for my op. But car's man, talk about what a hassle. They cost enough to buy then you have the petrol, rego, warrant and all that maintenance stuff... but having to fix something is such an unexpected nuisance! So a stuffed alternator and a new cambelt and $500 odd later, car fixed! What a drama though!

On the upside, at least the car is sorted and fixed right!

Getting on without any post-op blues!

So I have an awesome set of wheels that I get around in! My ride is a beaut and she even has a name.... HOT WHEELS! hahaha... (Good one Pops!)... She takes me for walks every day, to get some fresh air and a bit of Vit D now that the sun is showing it's shining face...

What do I do with all this time on my hands? Well, my schedule is busy I tell ya... well sorta. I get to sleep in, watch movies all day, now that I am a little more able, I am enjoying pottering around. Life of leisure? Well sorta... I have actually been using my time wisely and have been able to get some paper worky stuff sorted... which is great...

UNI! I have applied for Waikato Uni to do my postgrad study in Education. One day I'm gonna be top dog and running a school! Yip Ima be boss! lol... anyway, anxiously waiting for the word back from Waikato. I'm more than confident I will get accepted, but I'm keen as to study that I want to find out what I need etc... Exciting stuff!

Man, I have taken up a new hobby too... I call it TALKING TO MONKEYS! I think I am pretty patient and pretty polite too... but when you are on the phone with call centres, it can be soooo frustrating! My payroll agency is a total joke. I call them to ask about my own earnings, for them to turn around and tell me that I am not an authorised person to discuss MY OWN pay with them? RIDICULOUS! It's just as well, they have made so many stuff ups lately, they probably don't want people phoning and abusing them... Then I call the bank to suss some stuff out, and I have to say Muhammad or whatever his name was, was very pleasant... at the end of the call I ask him "So can you tell me then, if you are paid $150 to do a 5 minute job, how can I get a job like yours
?" It was pretty funny (you had to be there I guess)... So he starts going on about the process etc., but I really don't wanna know, I'm just trying to have a joke man, then he finally gets it and starts laughing... Man, someone is rubbing off on me a lil bit much?!

So a few things crossed off my never-ending list... Just glad that I'm haven't had major downers considering the last time this happend, I totally despised it, got down, ate all day and got chubby as! Very lucky me, I'm feeling pretty upbeat and great!

My (knobbly) knees... my right knee actually starting to resemble a knee again!
