So sometimes, it's good to start a good speech of with a joke, I just had this funny lil experience in my taxi ride I wanted to share before you read the rest of my post.
Had to get a taxi ride out to work today to have a meeting (which you will read about below), having a good chat to the driver, start talking about school and lil kids. Then he tells me this funny story about his grandson at kindy, who, when he's finished his business on the loo calls out, at kindy, "So who's gonna wipe this.... a....bum!" (lets just say bum, for all intensive purposes) I pee'd myself laughing. Besides the kid swearing, it's pretty darn funny, especially because Ayu calls out something similar... Ayu's line goes a lil something like this... "Ashaan... this thing aint gonna wipe itself!" hahaha... kids man... she actually got it from this crack up Aussie league player who does this funny section on the Footy Show. It's called "Beau knows..." Youtube him... Here's the link. The part I am referring to is right at the end.

Back to Reality
Had an appointment at work today with the boss and occupational therapist to assess what kinds of duties I can do when I get back to work.
So this is how I thought it would go... In my mind, what I assumed was that I would be straight back in the classroom on Monday the 19th November, as per normal, however, minus the obvious things I won't be able to do, like take kids for PE and playground duties etc. BUT NO!
This is how it went... OT (occupational therapist) says "So sedentary work is good for you Ashaan because you will be able to do office type stuff just to ease you back into work. So how does half a day this Friday sound?" In Ashaan's mind "What the heck? I have another week off from next week." Boss is sitting there and knowing this shady guy, in his mind would have been thinking ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZIP... I'm zipping up my wallet and going to make the most of this free ride... woohoo an extra expert to do my dirty ole paper work!" So then the boss starts listing all the things I can do... that guy man!
So the holiday is over folks. A week earlier than originally planned, but in saying that, I guess it has it's bonuses. Back to 100% pay instead of 80% pay... surely that is a bonus to look forward to! And, it is only half days for the first week at least, so that is pretty cruisy working day man!
Totally me right now!
Another plus, the kids were excited to see me and it's always nice to be missed. I was informed that the children keep calling their relief teacher Miss Drollet. Funny!
It really has been great being off work! It hasn't been anywhere near as boring and drawn out as I thought it would be and I have actually enjoyed getting lots of lil things done... It's been a good little taster for what my year will kind of entail with study in 2013.
