I think it's been about 9 long months now that I have been having issues with my knee. I got to the point where I had just had enough... it's been such an annoying cycle... hurt my knee, go to physio, they strap it, do a couple exercises etc. BUT all along I was sure it was worse than what the pro's had been telling me. They seemed to keep fobbing me off with "oh it's a knee sprain" or "oh its a cartilage tear but it will heal".... Right from the start, I been thinking... this feels just like when I "did" my other knee... which ended up being a reconstruction!
So went back to my GP, told him I think I need to be reffered to specialist, he put referall through straight away. A week later I get my MRI, following week I see the specialist, another week later, who then "breaks me the news"... "Do you want the good news or the bad news?"... "aaaaah, give me any news." NEK MINUT... get this... the cartilage on the inner side of my knee has folded over onto itself AND the ACL (ligament) is torn too!!! Actually he said the ligament is'nt even there! I was like woooooooow how the heck does that happen man???!!! CRAZY!
Anyway, the big op is in mid October... FANTASTIC! I am looking forward to getting this fixed, finally! Just not really looking forward to the rehab part!
If you want to see how they do the repair, you can have a look at this site... www.aco.org.nz
