Friends...

Throughout  our lives people will come and go. We make friends along the way, we lose friends too. Some friends will only be there for what seems like a moment in time and others will be there for, what you hope will be forever!

I have made friends, kept them, lost them... I've always had lots of friends, young, old, its never matterd to me... but I have come to learn that its not the amount of friends you have, its the quality of friends you have! I would rather have a handful of really good friends, quality friends, than to have all the friends in the world... and I am glad to say, that in this time of my life, I have that... I have a couple of friends that are always there for me, they listen, uplift, encourage, inspire, teach, help... they're funny, energetic, courageous, caring, crazy, fun...

So I have this friend. An amazing person, with the brightest personality that when she walks in, its like she brings the sun with her! I might not see her everyday or even hear from her everyday, but I know she is always there for me. A greeting with her is never short of an embrace, but when we hug, I'm sure others must look at us and think we haven't seen eachother for ages! It's uncanny too, because so many things her and I go through are so similar... It's really uncanny actually...

Anyway, we spent the day together on Thursday and it was awesome... we always have a great time together, no matter what. So when we are together, we have the funniest times! Anyway, we were out of town the other day and had to go to the supermarket... we get the things we need and out of nowhere, she starts talking to the banana, like its a phone! Most people must look at us and think, geez grow up, so what do I do? I join in! So the both of us are walking around the supermarket talking to eachother on our pho-nanas!So you could just imagine people in the supermarket thinking we are a couple of goons, cos well yeah, we are... but it got people laughing and it wasn't at the expense of others, just the expense of ourselves... there were a few supermarket workers come out to have a look at these two goofs talking to each other on their bananas and the old people, hahaha... they were funny getting a great old laugh of it all! We walk out in fits and then the conversation came up about how people that see us must think we are absolutely crazy... then we were talking about when we become mothers, wondering if we will still be the same?! Who knows... But that is of many crazy stories I have about D!

One thing I have come to realise about friends, is the best ones are the ones that you are comfortable around, the ones that you dont feel you have to pretend to be anyone else but yourself around! Argue or disagree about something, but at the end of the day, they still love ya! Because the friends that accept and love you for who you are, faults and all, the friends that you can pick up where you left off whether its a day later or a year later, those are the best friends to have... I have been really blessed with friends like that! Remember those special friends that you have been blessed with, remember all that they do for you, remember what they mean to you!

D on her pho-nana!
